My predictions for the year 2004!!!
Going through old emails and found this!!! Those were the days that I would sent updates via email. < Before I became a blogger!!! The year is 2004!!! My prediction for the year were as followed! 1-Elsie will resign letting Paul Zed return to Ottawa. 2-Bernard Lord’s problems in this Province hit the National stage causing problems for the new Leader. 3-Bernard Richard hints that he’ll quit as Ombudsman. 4-Frank McKenna will be the new Federal Industry Minister 5-Charles will finally win some money! 6-After months of ignoring ADD/ADHD issue, Charles will get arrested in Fredericton 7-Ottawa sets up a committee to deal with the Monopoly of newspapers and other media. 8-Tourism numbers numbers increase substantially in 2004- record setting year in New Brunswick 9-Paul Martin will win with a minority Government leaving Jean Chretien with a smile on his face. 10-In May of 2004 Saint John will have a new Mayor. 1-Diane will finally give in to the evil irving Empire and sells the River Valley News! 2-A study on Ritalin is finally on the works! 3- The Lord Government falls therefore leading the Liberals to power with a huge majority. 4-Early spring, beautiful summer and Indian Summer! 5-Saint John Police forces noticed a drop in crime because of a new Methadone Clinic in Saint john therefore asking themselves – How come this needy clinic wasn’t in place years ago! 6-New Brunswickers voice their deep concerns of the Irvings producing their own electricity. 7- Ottawa finally sets up a committee to study the monopoly of the Media. 8- One MLA turns ill and dies! < I don’t wish this on anyone >
9- A scandal rocks the Saint John Common Council.
10-Charles makes a presentation in front of a committee to review the inclusion program in this
Province.
11-Diane announce she’s running for the P.C.’s in the Riding of Grand Bay!
12- After one year of loneliness, Diane finds a new love mate!
13-Road in the Mispect area crashes in the Bay of Fundy due to high traffic causing a state of emergency!
14-Pope Paul passed away! < I hope not!>
15-George Bush is injured very badly after a assassination attempt!
16-Natives are in shock once they arrive to cut wood on Crown Land! Most of the tree have already been cut by the Big Forest Industries!
New Brunswick Finance Minister Blaine Higgs is confronted by the Anti-Shale Protesters in Fredericton!!!

SHOULD ATV'S BE ALLOWED ON OUR TRAILS SYSTEM IN NEW BRUNSWICK???

Our family lives in the Highland Heights subdivision in Taymouth, NB, just 100 m away from the NB trail, which we use daily with our two children and our dog, walking in the summertime and cross-country skiing in the winter. In the absence of any playgrounds and other recreational trails within our community, this walking trail provides us with the only opportunity to exercise daily in fresh air and in safety away from the highway. It is also our way to connect with family and neighbours in our wider community by walking to the market in Taymouth on saturdays, by cross-country skiing or biking to Durham Bridge to visit my parents, and by walking by neighours living towards Nashwaak Bridge.
Last Wednesday then, I saw that repairs were being done to the trail bridge in Taymouth and I decided to stop and ask the person who was working there about the trail. I was told then that there were plans in place to convert the walking trail to an ATV route between Durham Bridge and Doaktown. We were quite shocked to hear about such a plan, but were convinced that this will not be done overnight, and that such proposal would clearly be subject to a scrutinous investigation of benefits and risks and to a consultation of the residents living nearby. Now we hear that this is a done deal between the Department of Natural resources and the Fredericton ATV Club. When we visited the trail website today, we found that the trails vision is to connect communities with trails and that its mission is to advocate the concerns of non-motorized trail users. Our family constitutes four non-motorized trail users and are opposed to the plan to convert this into an ATV trail. This kind of dirty deal where a public good is given away to a private group without any consultation of the stakeholders should not happen in a true democracy. "

As someone who has worked closely with the mothers from Bathurst who lost their children in a terrible collision on a stormy night on a slush filled highway and who sat through days of testimony at a Coroners Inquest - including that of a snow plow driver who cleared the road in the hours before the tragedy - I shudder to think of how many more parents, children, relatives and friends will be awakened in the middle of the night to a phone call telling them their loved ones have been killed because of poor road conditions. We hear it all the time "road conditions were poor".... how many more times will this happen now that the Conservatives have decided, in their great wisdom, to cut the snow plow budget? Who will take the responsibility for the inevitable deaths to follow? Just pray that it isn't one of your loved ones who is killed because of these cutbacks because there will be more accidents and deaths as a result of this irresponsible and unwise decision. For shame.
Racists Members of the Fredericton Police Force shouldn't be allowed to be in the 2011 Remembrance Day Celebration!!!
This Racist Police Force who are attacking the less fortunate in this City shouldn't be allowed in this Freedom Parade.
I might have to protest this one to educate the citizens of this Racist Police Force.
