I made this interview today and I learned a few things!!!!
Every wondered how Cable TV came to New Brunswick???
Click below -
Here's some other information!!
Joseph Albert Faust aka (JA), one of the founding Cable TV Pioneers in Fredericton
In 1959 JA successfully started to Cable Television Companies in New Brunswick, one in Fredericton which he purchased from Bob Harrision and Jerry Carty.
Two tower sites where developed on in Silverwood on the south side and one on the Carlisle Road.
Signals were captured by fish ribbed eyed style antennae and amplified and redistributed to cable subscribers throughout the city.
While he was alive the company was known as "Faust Teledefusion" Faust Cable Television, City Cable Television the last Changed Fredericton Cable TV" The Main office was located on Mcleod Avenu, this where subscribers paid their bills … $3.00+ per month, if I remember for five channels. Driving through the city and X number of distances it was common to see the little 3’ x 3’ white boxes that housed the amplifiers and the classic 59 cable that was the main feed to the boxes and the houses.
After his death in October 1966 the business was sold and took on several other names including "Fundy, Shaw and Rogers"
Following his death the business was sold with little coming to his wife Jean Amanda Faust, the gains where for the investor and the lawyer Bill (William Hoyte) who represented the buyers, the sellers, and the investors interest (gross conflict of interest).
The Clown came to me and told me that he was just grabbed and escorted from the New Brunswick Legislature!!!
We went on the front steps and you'll noticed in the video that the door are opened but Dan Bussieres quickly locked the doors to the Public.
A Security from New Brunswick couldn't even enter the People's House.
Afterwards, I was approached on the streets telling me that he heard of the Police Scanner that Charles LeBlanc and the Clown were on the front steps of the Legislature. These individuals are banned from the Legislature.
The Police officer replied - 10-4!!!!
But sadly, no cops came to greet us.
Now? That would have been a funny youtube eh? The Clown, the Blogger and the Cops!!!
Just wanted to let you and your friends know that there will be a memorial service for Shane Roach tomorrow at 2 pm at Brunswick Street Baptist Church in the Sanctuary with a reception to follow in the church gym.
Much more worrying matter: we (around Stanley community, but most of communities around) had an unwelcome visitor: South West Energy guy, warning of seismic tests on a nearby road. Danger zone is 180m to the property.
Most of properties are 20-30m. We have no say in this matter, government allowed tests to be done on the road.
Test will happen, despite the community outcry. It is dangeruos pre-fracking test that left 60 households with no running water near Sussex (test for pot ash, however same-giant truck thumping earth that caused it).
We are very scared and worried and have no say. It is forced on us. More info you can obrain from Stephanie Merril (Conservation Council).
The whole fracking affair is forced on New Brunswick by a greedy Government and public is just ploughed over without any consideration...
Just wandered wherever you are gonna tackle this issue at some point.
cheers,
Last week I asked Bruce Northrup Minister of Natural Resources a few questions about this issue.
As a former touring cyclist I gave the guy a few tips.
Good conversation off the camera. One issue is the music he was listening on his headphone.
That's a NO NO!!!
I believe that's the reason many cyclists gets killed on the highway. They're listening to their music and can't hear the traffic coming from behind them.
Another issue is camping. I suggested to the guy that he should knocked at people's homes and asked them if he could put his tent behind their home for security for his bicycle.
He told me that he went to a fancy house with a nice lawn but the woman quickly ran him from her house.
I suggested that he doesn't go for the fancy homes.
Go for the poorer homes because they have a good heart.
One other advice was the put a sign behind his bicycle telling the motorists what's he's doing because they will respect him on the roads.
What I found strange is he asked me where was Prospect Street?
I told him that he was heading towards the wrong direction. Woodstock is down King Street.
He said that there were two Subway's on Prospect and he wanted a free breakfast.
I told him that he shouldn't go there because it's a huge hill!
He went anyway and told me that he needs to go at the Library.
I asked- What kind of a cyclist are you? It's 8:45am!!! You have to hit the road because the hot sun will be here in hours.
