Here's a picture of her Niece. She sent me a couple of email last week.

Hi Charles,

I am from Regina. My dad Francis Smith (deceased 1988) , Isabella's only sibling moved to Weyburn, Sk during WWII. There was an airforce base there. He met my mom while he was in Weyburn. They married in 1945. Settled in Regina. He died never knowing what happened on that night of Oct 19/65. He always felt that there was fowl play involved.

Isabella was only married to Jack Felsing for a few months when she passed away. She was in her 40's when she married Jack. She stayed at home looking after her ailing mom and dad (my grandparents). After they passed away she married Jack. They lived in my grandparents home after they got married at 679 Churchill Row. My grandfather was a Professor of Music at the University I believe. He was also the head organist at Christ Church Cathedral. Anyways my father always had bad feelings toward Jack's sister, Betty Lees. You see, after the autopsy and inquiry it was determined that Isabella died first - probably almost instantly and 1/2 of her face was blown off and she lost an entire breast in the shotgun blast. I think 3 pellets entered Jack's jugular vein and he bled to death probably within 20 minutes. So, because there was no will everything went from my Aunt Isabella to Jack and from there it went from Jack to his sister Betty Lees. The house and all of it's contents went to Jack Felsing's family who my dad never knew. They willingly took everything with no concern for my father. My father grew up in 679 Churchill Row. When he arrived in Frederiction the day after the shooting the Betty and Tom Lee's would not even let him in to his childhood home. He was shocked. He had to get a lawyer--I believe his name was Ross Emerson to get in to his own house. My dad always had suspicion about the Lees as they showed very little remorse.

Everyone has their own theories as to why they were shot. It is very interesting indeed! I just wish my father would have found something out before he passed away. Every year around Oct. 19 I have tried to stir up interest by sending in a letter to the Daily Gleaner. I do get a few letters from people who remember this incident. It's nice to know that there are other's out there that haven't forgotten.

Dad always felt that the shot was only intended for Isabella - and Jack just happened to be unlucky. Also, Jack's body was turned over my someone. Their black Lab, Heather was with them at the time. Dad said that Heather would not have let anyone near them if he did not know them.. So whoever turned Jack over must have known them. They were eventually found by a cab driver who contacted the police. When the police arrived they had to laso Heather and tie her to a tree before they could get to the bodies. It stated in the Coroner's report that Jack could not have turned himself over - he had to be turned over by someone. They thought maybe Heather could have some how managed to turn him over. But who knows?

The RCMP have assured me that this is still an active file and they do work on it. They have told me that they will get back to me and report what is going on. But I never hear from them.

The only way it is going to be solved is if that someone comes forward with some information -- and I am sure they are out there.

Nice to hear from you. You sound like a pretty interesting guy.

Hi Charles:

Thanks for your prompt reply to my blog. I've attached a picture that was taken just today--midway between my Aunt Isabella's birthdate of Oct 13 thand her sudden passing on Oct 19.

I hope the picture works out for you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to have this unfortunate and sad tragedy put on your blog. I am so glad that I came across it last nite. It is very interesting. If there's anything more you need, please let me know.

Coincidently, we are going to our granddaughter's baptism this afternoon. Her name is Brooklyn Isabelle Sebastian. I am so glad that my daughter and son-in-law have named this precious little girl in memory of my late father's sister.

Here's the story I wrote a few years ago -

Last year someone told me of a Double murder in the Oromocto Area in the 60s. It was just mentioned during a little chat. I guess the couple were two bureaucrats.

I reminded the individual a few weeks ago that I would love to see where the couple were shot.

The area is called Oromocto Flats.

I never heard of this place.

Once there, I quickly found out it was the perfect place for a nice walk beside the Oromocto River.

Here's a few pictures. I can only imagine what the area would look like in the fall? Should be very pretty.

The road used to be a connection from Orocmoto to Fredericton.

The road was closed in the late 50s.

Click below for very nice pictures -

Oromocto Flat

We began walking on the old flat road. No hills in this area.

It didn't take long to meet an old couple who were enjoying a nice walk.

We asked - Do you know anything about the Couple who got shot dead in the year 1965?

They replied - Ohhh...they were shot by accident. It was hunting season on October 19th, 1965.

We continued our little walk and we bumped into a MacDougall. His Father bought the land years ago.

He owns the land and he was cutting some wood for the cold winter months.

We began asking a few questions but this time I did a youtube.

Click below -

He was a nice guy.

We continued our little walk right till the end of the old road. It must be between two to three miles long. Very nice walk.

We decided to return back.

While returning to our vehicle, we were approached by an older gentleman.

He glanced at me and said - Are you Blogger LeBlanc????

Well, at that point I was getting a little nervous. In the deep woods where a double killing occurred and the word must have spread that a curious Blogger was in the area asking some straight forward questions???

I quickly pointed to my buddy and replied - Nope!!! He's Charles LeBlanc!!!

Yes, you truly know who your friends are during a crisis eh???..lol

The stranger shook my friend's hand and told the guy he was very happy that he was doing a story on the Double murders.

Was it a murder or just a hunting accident? That's the question?

Here's a youtube asking a few questions -

Click below -

After chatting with the guy and I straighten him out who the blogger was? I asked the guy to show me exactly were the murders happened?

Maybe this is another way to get rid of a Blogger asking some nosy questions???...lol

Once there, I noticed the area was deserted. I mean there's no memorial as reminder of the couple.

Here's a youtube -

The guy was too afraid to used his voice in the youtube.

I was told it was possible there used to be a little memorial but every spring, the area is flooded by the Oromocto River..

I had my video and pictures so we decided to return to the Capital.

The stranger told me on three different occasions - Be careful Charles. Just be careful.

I was concern of the manner he gave me the advice but I'm a blogger so lets just see what I can found out about the Felsing's murders in Fredericton?

What's important in this case is I googled - The Felsing's murder

I didn't get anything but a book written by a friend of mine - Dorothy Dearborn.

There's nothing on the Information Highway so I might as well blogged a little story.

Once in the Capital, I quickly found out that many people remembered the murders.

One individual told me in a very fast way - In those days, that's the way it was done. It was like a little mafia town. You know pay 20% of your profit from a business for security. Many were murdered and that's the way it was!!! He suggested to me to drop the issue and stop asking questions?

I don't believe a Pain in the Butt Blogger like myself would have lasted too long in those days....lol

I bumped into another individual and asked if he knew anything about the couple who were murdered in the area of Oromocto Flats?

I had the guy's attention 100%!!!

He jumped and said - THE FELSING'S??????

He quickly told me not to blog this issue or even talk about it!!!

He added - Some people told me that couple were murdered and some people were ordered to keep their mouth shut or else???

Before he left? He gave me the same advice as the stranger I met in Oromocto Flats. He said - Be careful.

Then someone told me John Felsing was a guy who came from the States and worked for Public work. > I believe it's Public Safety in today's world >

He was going to go public with the media about crooked finance in the Louis Robichaud Government.

Another individual told he was going to come out with a scandal at Kingsclear.

That youth prison was open in the late 50s and he got shot in 1965.

In later years, we all know about the sad stories of Karl Toft.

Another individual told me someone did confessed to the murders on his death bed.

Another told me a High ranking Business man was involved in this issue.

Another tale the couple were murdered by mistake. I guess the Seal Hunt was an issue in those days. A guy name Brian Davies owned a helicopter and was an activist against the hunt.

People say they were suppose to be murdered? Not the Felsing's!

The Gleaner mention 378 George where they lived.

Also 579 Churchill Road but the home is long gone. There's a Baseball and soccer fields in that area.

I blogged this issue the same day I came back from Oromocto Flats. Someone quickly left a comment that I should read a book by Dorothy Dearborn.

Blogger looking for answers about the murders in 1965!!!

One thing about this blog? I have some very intelligent readers reading this site. Some quickly told me where to go for some info!!

I decided to go at the Fredericton Public Library and locate the story in the Achieves.

Great service at the Public Library in Fredericton. I was given a book about the murders and the films of the achieves.

I quickly noticed American news was often on the headlines. The murders never made the headlines. Strange eh???

I guess the Felsing's had the same daily routine. After work eat their meals going for the same routine walk. HEY? I BETTER CHANGE MINE!!!!!!...lol

I also found out the New Brunswick Legislature was going to open on November 9th, 1965. The Felsing's were murdered on October 19th. Hmmmmmmm.....

Then I found these articles. Very strange there were no pictures of the couple shot dead.

Hmmmmm...we had Quebec gangsters in this area?

Very strange how they did an inquest in those days? It was three weeks after the killings.

I found out the funerals was held at Christ Church so I decided to go on a hunt to locate the tombstone.

Once at the Church, I was told their names could be in an old book. They could help me in a few days to locate the couple.

This ADHD didn't have a couple of days so I went to the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick.

Once there, a pleasant lady at the desk wrote the names in a computer and BINGO!!!!

I was told they were buried at Fredericton Rural Cemetery Extension.

I didn't know where the cemetery was located but I found it!!!!

There are around 3,000 people buried in this final resting place.

They didn't have on record where the burial lot was located.

I felt like the Movie The Good, the Bad and the Ugly!!!

Remember the Ugly guy looking for the burial lot where the gold was located?

Round and round I went looking for the tombstone - FELSINGS!!!!

After one hour and it was getting dark. I failed. I went home feeling dejected.

But I'm a stubborn little blogger so I went back in the area the very next day.

I went to the office but nobody was home.

Someone shouted- It was Doug Cote. He worked at the Cemetery for 29 years!!

I asked if he knew where the Felsing's were buried?

He knew exactly where it was located.

He showed me a Map and did mentioned - The Family name -Smith.

I wasn't paying attention I guess? < NOT THE FIRST TIME!!! >

He told me a woman used to bring flowers years ago but she hasn't done that action lately.

He offered to help me to locate the Tombstone in the other cemetery?

I told him that I'll find it. I love doing these kind of investigating.

Out I went looking for the Felsing's but once there I had no luck.

I decided to do a youtube while locating the Felsing's. Then suddenly Doug came to the scene.

Enjoy -

The tombstone was -SMITH!!!!

I would have never found it.

This guy have been working at the Cemetery for 29 years so I decided to do a youtube. I asked if there were some people asking about the Felsing's???

Enjoy -

Isabella was buried with her parents.

Their names are located in the back.

The couple knew each other for 14 years and were only married for 3 months.

Very sad ending!!!

Well? This is the end of this sad story.

The reason I decided to spent a few hours on this issue is because they will be on the Information Highway from now on.

They are dead and silent forever!!!

They can't speak or tell the public of their concerns.

Does anyone out there have any pictures of the Couple?

Please email them to me at

So? What really happened in this case?

Accident or murder???

Who knows????

May they rest in peace....

Did they knew too much?

I guess John Felsing was working for Public Safety.

He was suppose to come out with stories from the Kingsclear Youth Training Centre.

Those were the days before anyone knew of what was going on in those buildings.

Here's a reader comment -

Thanks Mr. Leblanc for having the courage to post on the Felsing murders.

I walked the Oromocto flats many times and although I was born after 1965 I have researched the Felsing murders for years.

What I found were a series of coincidences pertaining to dates around 1965 when the Felsings were found murdered. Agent Orange was in its infancy and was being sprayed around the same area. This was extremely confidential at the time as the Vietnam War was on and the USA did not want military secrets to be public news.

I believe the Felsings discovered cannisters by the waters edge, seeing what they were not supposed to see.

My mother talked about this often. Ironic as she died from complications of agent orange exposure (type three pancreatic lesion).

Growing up in the area I have seen hunters around the area. I suppose there could have been a shooting accident. That does not explain why the bodies were moved after the discovery. The person who discovered the Felsings went to notify the authorities. It was reported that Mr. felsing was laying with his legs spread open and the family dog was sitting on the pavement between his legs. When the police arrived Mr. Felsing's legs were closed. Why?

There has been no person brave enough to come forward with any credible evidence. If it were an accident someone, even a family member or friend of the "shooter" would have come forward.
I do not believe this was a random act. 1965 was a different era, people kept their mouths shut about everything.

I'm not like that.

I hope people that comment on your blog have the same attitude and actually leave their names.

Then we met these guys -

We continue our walk to enjoy the beautiful view of Oromocto Flats.

This is the location the Felsing's were murdered!!

John and Isabella Felsing murdered

With the hunters around in the area? I got a little paranoid!!!

Could be some Liberals around with a rifle?

I decided to change my jacket inside out.

Safer this way!!

You newcomers can read some old blog I wrote on this murdered couple.

Click below -

I received this mail and it was strange. My mailing address was the same as the sender.

I opened the letter and got this!!!

I have been asking for a picture of the murdered couple.

A big Merci Beaucoup to the anonymous sender.

This is where the Double Murder happened -

Click below for story -

UPDATE- Someone told me a few weeks ago that he was playing ball the day the murder happened.

He approached an R.C.M.P. Officer to tell him that he heard two shots compared to the story there was only one shot.

The R.C.M.P. told the child to mind his own business!!!

Very strange.

Forget Agent Orange. Everybody knew it was being sprayed, what people didn't know at the time was the health effects. People in the lawsuit allege that they were told it was harmless and they often had no protection at all. I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure it was used right up to the eighties along hydro lines.
The health effects didn't come out til years later, so that's one angle that can be crossed off the list.
It COULD have been hunters, but since nobody stuck around or confessed to it, its a mistake to call that an 'accident'. When people leave the scene of an auto accident that they caused then they can be charged with murder or manslaughter.
Interesting letter from the family member because I don't think the domestic angle was covered before. But not liking a family member is a long way from killing them.

Police in NB (everywhere?) are so corrupt its hard to know how many times they've covered up crimes to suit some official agenda.

Richard Oland's murder for instance - he must have really pissed some people off to get hacked with an axe to death an have it swept under the carpet.

The rape of hundreds of boys at their pedophile jail in Kingsclear is the signature coverup of the Fredericton PD, along with their continued molestation of any troublemakers without enough $ to defend themselves (bloggers, drunken soldiers, immigrants, skateboarders, etc.)

Pretty despicable.
