2007, 59 min. Israel is the only country in the world where 18-year-old girls
are drafted for compulsory military service. In this award-winning documentary,
the frank testimonials of six female Israeli soldiers stationed in Gaza and the
West Bank pack a powerful emotional punch. The young women revisit their tours
of duty in the occupied territories with surprising honesty and strip bare
stereotypes of gender differences in the military. At a time when women in the
military are increasingly on the frontlines, and the actions of soldiers all
over the world are being questioned, this powerful film explores the ways that
gender, ethics and moral responsibility intersect during war. For more info on

book “The Black Book of Canadian Foreign Policy” at Renaissance College

Foreign Policy is the first critical overview of Canada’s role on the world
stage. While most Canadians believe their country’s primary role has been as
peacekeeper or honest broker in difficult-to-solve disputes, the book cites
hundreds of examples of colonialism, racism, naked self-interest and willing
participation as a policeman for the British and then American empires. The
Fredericton book launching is organized by the Fredericton Peace Coalition. The

A reader from Mexico views on the Swine Flu!!!

Charles,

We are fine, the media is blowing this thing up to something big. Lots of bullshit from all levels of government, locally and internationally.

Of course, Air Canada ceasing flights to 3 destinations in Mexico was not front page news, I heard about it from people who are going home because they were told if they did not fly in the next couple of days, they would e stuck here permanently.

But we are fine, the yucatan has no reported cases, and my 12 year old daughter loves that the schools are all closed for a week!!

keep up the good work.

BLOGGER CHARLES LEBLANC GETS NEW PAIR OF SNEAKERS SO HE CAN RUN AWAY FROM THE FREDERICTON POLICE FORCE!!!
