Since the story was on CBC. I might as well blog the issue.
The City approached the owners and made a deal they would go to the old Victoria Hospital on Monday and Friday so the less fortunate can bring their bottles.
No vehicles will be allowed in the area.
This is only for the people who have no transportation.
Last year during the hot month of August, I received an email from the Irving's paper asking me for an interview about my arrest in Saint John.
I don't have a phone so I used the phone of a Barber on Queen Street.
The owner name is Bob. I asked him if I could used his phone?
I continued by saying those darn Irvings want to interview me about the Saint John Police Force.
Bob had a client on his chair.
The older gentleman quickly spoke up and said - What do you have against the Saint John Police Force?
I shot back - What are you??? A Cop???
His haircut was done and a debate quickly began.
I didn't know who this guy was but he was very smart with his answers. < Short and right to the point >
Back and forth we went until I realized that I was debating with Bob's customers.
I noticed Bob was watching the debate with great interest. I told the Barbershop owner- Oppsss...sorry!!! This is not the place to debate!!! I don't debate with your customers.
Of course, the barbershop is the perfect spot because my father was a barber for 30 years and debates I witnessed many!!!
The Barber just raised his arms in the air and said – Ohhhh...I don't mind!!! You guys just go right ahead!!!!
Bob knew both of us but neither of the debaters knew the other guy.
The debate went on and on until we decided to call it quit.
I went outside and the other guy went home.
The barber quickly step outside while someone was on his chair and asked me if I knew the guy I was debating with?
I didn't know who he was?
He told me that it was Bob Lockhart the former Mayor of Saint John. I always wanted to meet the guy because he used to be a former Talk show host at CFBC!!!
From what I'm told he was one of the best.
I quickly ran to locate the guy and found him before he went into his truck.
He did offer me some advice about my arrest in Saint John. Don't fight the Police Force because you can't win!!!
I often wondered about that one?
You can say it was a word of wisdom from a smart fella!!!!
This afternoon, I bumped into the former Mayor and he let me interview him for youtube.
I even asked Bob about Abel LeBlanc and the Irvings?
He wanted to know what I was going to ask him? I told him that he'll know when I point blank shoot the questions?
